Excursions with a dog in the Black Forest

The Black Forest is a wonderful destination for excursions with your exploratory pet. There are many beautiful places to discover with your dog and many interesting sights to visit together – a vacation that you can enjoy to the fullest awaits you in our picturesque accommodation in the middle of the Black Forest.

One of the best places for excursions with your dog in the Black Forest is the Feldberg. As the highest mountain in the region, Freiburg’s local mountain offers fantastic panoramic views and a number of hiking routes. Whether it’s a relaxed walk or a strenuous hike with lots of ascents and descents, the Feldberg is dog-friendly in any case – but be careful: dogs are not allowed to swim in the Feldsee lake. Instead, you can head up to the Feldberg and visit the Feldberg Tower viewing platform with your furry friend.

Whether you want to go hiking, cycling or swimming with your dog, the Schluchsee is waiting for you. It is one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Germany, boasts deep blue water and offers many water sports opportunities. The beautiful landscape, the quiet location and numerous bathing spots, also for dogs, are a big plus for the Schluchsee. The bathing opportunities are of course particularly worthwhile in summer, but the Schluchsee is absolutely worth seeing all year round. The famous Titisee is also well worth a visit, where you can buy souvenirs, walk around the lake with your four-legged friend or take a pedal boat out on the lake. The Titisee is also beautiful to look at in all four seasons and offers an extensive forest in the surrounding area and great hiking routes towards Hinterzarten.

Different rules apply here too: dogs are not allowed to swim in the Feldsee on the Feldberg, whereas bathing is permitted in certain places in the Titisee, Schluchsee, Windgfällweiher and Mathisleweiher. Pay attention to the local signs.
