Planning a vacation with your dog? The Schlehdorn is a dog-friendly hotel and warmly welcomes your four-legged friend. Look forward to long walks in the heart of the legendary Black Forest—right on our doorstep.

Our staff are absolutely thrilled to welcome your furry friends and will be happy to recommend suitable outings. Plus, your dog is welcome to accompany you almost everywhere in the hotel—including the restaurant.

New Highlight: Wellness for Your Furry Friend Starting May 14, 2026, vacations will be even more relaxing for your loyal companion: The Wildpfoten dog grooming salon is opening on the grounds of the Köhlerei am See. The salon offers professional and loving grooming services for all four-legged friends right in the neighborhood.

Exclusively for our guests: During the first three months after opening, hotel guests will receive a 10% discount on all services.

It’s best to bring your own dog bed. Please make sure your furry friend doesn’t jump on upholstered furniture or beds.

Tours and Outings with Your Dog

There are many lakes, forests, and mountains in the immediate vicinity that are perfect for walking the dog or hiking. The Schluchsee and Titisee lakes both have dog-friendly access for swimming and can both be reached in 10-15 minutes by car.

You can also quickly reach the Feldberg and other beautiful hiking trails. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, there’s something here for every taste and fitness level.

Your four-legged friend is also welcome in our restaurant. However, we ask that you keep your pet on a leash throughout the restaurant and find a quiet spot for your furry friend under a table or chair.

Does my dog have to be on a lead?

We kindly ask you to keep your dog on a lead in the hotel.

Is my pet allowed in any area of the hotel?

Except for the wellness area, your four-legged friend is welcome everywhere. In the restaurant, please have them sit on the floor next to you under the table. We ask that care is taken to ensure that dogs do not lie in the corridor so that staff do not trip over them.

Are there any special regulations to be observed?

We reserve the right to send you an invoice for cleaning costs if rooms/apartments/furniture are heavily soiled with dog hair. If your dog is alone in the bedroom, please hang the door hanger on the door. Please let your dog do its business outside and not on the balcony.
